Nice Place to be at Yosemite

We spent two nights starting from Aug 21, 2012 at this hotel. The hotel has been nicely renovated in the not too distant past. We had a handicapped room with 2 queen beds. My elderly father was with us, and I wanted to keep him on the first floor. The bathroom was huge, with a flat entry from the marble floor into the big plastic shower insert. No rim, shower curtain. Nice shower massage with a long adjustable height hose. I was afraid of water running all over the bathroom floor, but this didn't happen. First person to shower just laid their used towel down to gather any drips that escaped. There was a huge counter with one basin, lots of room to arrange things. The toiletries were not fancy, but not offensive. They were properly restocked for our second night. The two queen beds were comfortable, the sheets very soft, the beds soft enough, and the furnishings were modern and clean. There was one fleecy blanket and the usual (heavy to me) coverlet on the bed. I took the fleece and doubled it over my dad and used our own down comforter which we brought from home. Very comfy. Pillows were standard hotel fare. In summer, I think I'd rather take the money and stay in the park, in lesser-equipped rooms, just to save driving time. But getting a room in the park during peak season is HARD. The folks who checked me in, answered my question about the thermostat, and checked me out were very nice, very kind and helpful. I felt quite happy to have chosen to spend our holiday weekend there. The drive into Yosemite this time of year was quiet and with the weather so pleasant, very easy.
